This holiday season, The Dime is taking on the theme of giving back. We have dedicated a portion of our posts, including our weekly Dime Roll, to introducing volunteering opportunities all over the state and other ways for everyone to lend a hand or give back to the community this holiday season.
Although Thanksgiving has come and gone, we at the Dime Roll have decided to extend our theme of “lending a hand” through the end of the year! There are many people in need this holiday season and a lot of organizations looking for the extra help while serving our community. Consider volunteering with the organizations listed below.
We also have a special highlight on a unique teacher who is using creative ways to teach children foreign language; through music and dance. Plus, one of our staff members talks about the many ways you can have an important impact on a young person’s life, through the gift of mentorship.
And, as we get closer to Christmas, we have some DIY ideas on how to deck the halls without breaking the bank. It’s all in this week’s Dime Roll!

The Adopt-A-Family program provides Christmas gifts for families who otherwise would not have the means to celebrate. Individuals or groups are needed to “adopt-a-family” for the holidays. To sign up, please contact Ann Buys at 720-257-1568 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Denver Santa Claus Shop is a volunteer-run, nondenominational, nonprofit that shares the spirit of the Holidays with Denver children in need – many of whom might not otherwise have a toy to open at Christmas. Their mission is “A Toy for Every Girl & Boy". Sign up to volunteer here.
