The Dime Roll: Eclipsing Our Way to the Weekend

Happy Solar Eclipse Week, dearest readers of The Dime! There's no denying that Monday's event was truly an out-of-this-world experience (no pun intended), a humbling reminder to us all of just where we lie in relation to the vastness of the universe. It's pretty safe to say that all of us, at one point or another, have become so consumed by the day-to-day, we've forgotten to pause and look around (or, in this case, up); needless to say, there's nothing like a little perspectiveor a temporary blacking out of the sunto pull us out from a preoccupation with the mundane.

BUT, you didn't come to The Dime to get all existential, did you? Don't worry—besides serving up deep #lifemusings, we've also got some great content for you to check out. Do you know a first-time college student who's heading off to school this fall? Well, you'll want to read on for some oft overlooked essentials your student will wish he or she had (oh yeah, and they happen to come highly recommended by a real-life college student!). And, if you've been following the "Begrudgingly Budgeting" series, we know you'll be interested to read our staffer's latest installment (hint: the central theme is balance).

Enough from us...let's dive into the latest edition of The Dime Roll, shall we?

Are you a diehard Dimer? If so, we'd love for you to pass us along to your friends and family (dogs and grandmas included). We also love hearing from our readers, so hit us up on Facebook and Twitter if you've got something to share. (C'mon...you know you want to.)
